Here's the bottom line, unless you're willing to spend $700 a piece for a real metal exterior wall. Wall sconce/ lantern you're stuck with products like this. They are clearly made in China, proudly stamped made in China. As a matter of fact... It's cheap as far as construction goes but, it works. I was looking for a couple of lanterns to replace the ones that I had and these have nice glass walls, easy to install even though the metal is garbage. And for the price, you can basically replace these more times than you will be living in the house you're installing it on. I purchased others I found here on Amazon, they were so cheap like the ones made by Hunter Douglas... Do not waste your time. These are good and they work for what they are.These were the replacements required by our HOA. Not only do the compliment the architecture, but they are beautiful. We replaced our very ratty 1960 looking, builder grade back porch light too. Wonderful!We were absolutely suprised at how beautiful this is in person!. I got ours out of the "used" box or whatever for 27 bucks. The tiny little scratch or whatever it was is so minor. It's not gonna stop us from enjoying h*** out of it lol. Its stunning! Looks great up against our brick as well! We liked it so much we ordered us another one. So we can have a nice matching pair out front. This was gonna be for the back deck. But that's not place for this. It needs to showing off out front! Very pleased with our purchase! Hope the pictures help others as well with actual sizing and all. Thanks!We ordered 3 of the 4 different sizes to make sure we chose the best ones for around the house. This one, the 8458 (center in picture), was the best size for all of our applications in the end (front door, back door, door into detached garage, both sides of the 'garage door'). The 8468 (left in the photo) was just too tall for our front, and the 8457 (right in the photo) was too small. The 8456 (not pictured) is even smaller! I kind of wish there was a size between the 8458 and 8457 as that probably would have been perfect for the non-front door applications, but these look great and I recommend them (so far).Replaced old outdoor fixtures with three of these lights. I was specifically looking for a lantern looking light but needed the back plate to be small enough to fit existing locations to minimize installation complexity due to siding base size. I have never installed anything electrical and installed these myself with some guidance from by husband ?Great looking light that’s looks expensive, but it’s not. Easy to install. I used an Edison bulb in my light for the vintage look.Decent quality for the price. The styling is really excellent and looks good on my home. I ordered six of these and all of them didn't contain screws to attach the universal mounting plate to the electrical box. If I had been buying these for a new install, I would have had to purchase screws separately. As it was, I used the screws from the old lights if they weren't already stripped.This are so pretty against our white siding. I look or how it is so easy to chance the lightbulb. No need to remove the top of the fixture. Just reach underneath. I don’t even need a ladder.
