Handsome unit. Instructions are quite good for the mounting in the ceiling, assuming the electrical outlet box is already in place. If the electrical outlet box is not in place, additional help/instructions are required. Also, there are no instructions for the assembly of the light/metal-shade assembly. This took awhile to figure out. Also, it helps to be familiar with how to put up a hanging light - that is hanging hook plus chain loop to electrical outlet box. Once up, the unit is attractive and seems to work well. Quality is reasonable for the price (just under $100).Came in perfect condition. I was replacing a light with a chain so, luckily I did not have to rely on the confusing instructions. If you have never replaced a light like this before, one side of the wire has little ridges on the side, and the other is smooth. This is how to tell the difference between the + or -. The wires are not colored like speaker wires. This might be basic electric but I did not know of this. So feel the wires and just match them up with the wires coming out of you ceiling. Make sure to the power off before you do this.BTW, the little nubs on the shade are the ends of the bulb cage that you can see in the pic. They poke through the shade. This really modernizes my kitchen!After hurricane Irma our porch light was toast. We lived with it until having the house painted a couple months ago. We searched all over for a light to match our other outdoor lighting. This fit the bill in every way. The finish,size,style and price were perfect!These lights look terrific and were easy for my husband to install. The only thing to keep in mind is that where the large wires poke through the shade, there is no cap. It looks like a little screw sticking out.
